A Trip To The Library

Published January 2, 2013 by inanortherntown

One of the most painful things about moving was having to cancel my New West library card – it was so distressing to see all of those holds obliterated.  Some books, I began as hold number eleventy billion and had made it all the way down to the double digits.

One of the books was Wild by Cheryl Strayed.  As soon as I received my new shiny library card, I headed to the computer to place a hold on the book.  And Lo! The book was IN and sitting there on the shelf waiting to be checked out by me.  It was like winning the lottery!!

I also picked up Are You Smart Enough To Work At Google? – as it is a must read for anyone who wants to succeed in today’s job market. Well then.

Over the holidays, I read A Casual Vacancy by J. K. Rowling.  It took me a minute to get into it – I found it quite angry and very discomforting. Now though, after finishing the last page, I can’t stop thinking about the story and the characters. If you lived closer, I would lend it to you.  It’s solid two thumbs up recommendation from me.
