Act 2

Published January 8, 2013 by inanortherntown

Teacher: A new student? I was not informed.
Mother: We are very pleased to meet you.
Teacher: There isn’t a desk ready for this child.
Mother: [graciously points to her husband] He can move anything.
Teacher: Her school cubby is filled with art supplies……
Mother: [rolls up sleeves] I’m a pro at packing and moving detritus.
Teacher: Shall I show you the classroom? And then your daughter can start school tomorrow?
Mother: [holding tightly to child about to flee] She is very eager to start school today.

I’m shocked and appalled! What happened to the belief that the children are our future, teach them well and then let them lead the way?

However will we lead them to world domination with the “comeback tomorrow” attitude?

/end rant

We finished the day with the traditional first day of school donut and hot beverage debrief. All is well and I think we just might show up again tomorrow!

In other news: Look! A heated bus shelter. How cute is this?
