Isolated

The two highways that lead us south are closed.

The city is cut off.

I was warned today to stock up on eggs, milk and bread – as the grocery stores will run out. French toast anyone?

There are two reasons why this news is NOT AMUSING me.

1. Mr. Northern-Town is in Edmonton and was due to return home last night.

2. It has been snowing – I have had to SHOVEL. This is a clear violation of the move agreement.

I have issued a new decree: Business Travel Shall Be Done By Air in the Winter Months. So it is written so it shall be done.

I finished Wild. It was fantastic – I highly recommend this read. The Pacific Coast Trail sounds terrifying. Her description of the toenail damage/loss she sustained was perfectly gruesome.

I am now reading Believing the Lie by Elizabeth George. I love this author – I’d read her shopping lists if they were made available.

I haven’t cracked open Are You Smart Enough to Work at Google yet. I can’t decide what would be worse: a) Finding that that no, you’re not smart enough. b) Finding out that yes, you’re smart enough but upon scanning the horizon there is no possibility of ever having this happen.

Stay warm.

  • I read “Wild” last Fall – great story. Randy and I have talked about hiking part of the trail…not so sure about it now; I like my toe nails! 🙂
